About Laura

I'd describe my personality as attentive, personable and empathetic. I like working with kids because it gives me a strong sense of purpose while providing for children's individualized needs. I'm looking for a job that is clear with their wants and needs for their child. One that sets the expectations clearly so I can meet or exceed those expectations. One thing you should know about me is that I have a well rounded scope of expertise. I have worked with neurotypical kids but have most recently been working as a behavioral therapist with kids on the autism spectrum. I have also worked with kids with a wide variety of learning difficulties. I am also trilingual in English, Spanish and ASL. My skills include being a good listener even in nonverbal communication. I utilize positive reinforcement while maintaining a playful and kind nature. I am also very flexible when it comes to adapting to children's never ending fluctuation of needs, schedules and family requirements.
