About Laura

I'd describe my personality as patient, passionate, and determined. I enjoy tutoring because I enjoy helping people of different ages and needs. I started tutoring in 2013, when I was in college. Since then, I've tutored students as young as 5 and as old as 40. I've tutored students in ELA/English, phonics, elementary/middle school level math, and life skills. Apart from being a tutor, I am a Nationally Board Certified teacher and I work for Montgomery County Public Schools. I'm looking for a part time job that will allow me to provide help to students of all learning styles and ability levels. In my spare time, I like to read, write, spend time with loved ones, hike, and do art projects and puzzles. One thing you should know about me is that I'm very adaptable; if a session time or content needs to be changed, I will do my best to make it happen. I also believe that my patience and ability to differentiate are my greatest skills.
