About Laura

I have a minor in English literature as well as an art degree. Writing skills were heavily stressed in the homeschool program my family used. Several years ago, I worked as a teacher's assistant in a kindergarten classroom, helping with arts and crafts as well as reading, writing, and math skills. I have recently had experience helping a child with distance learning as well. I am confident helping with upper level English and writing for both college and high school students, as well as lower level English for grade school children. I can also help with other grade school subjects, such as lower level math. I have also taught private art lessons to teenage kids, assisted an art teacher at our local charter school, and worked as an intern in the college print shop. I am confident in teaching basic drawing skills and portraits with pencil, charcoal, colored pencil, and pastels. I am also familiar with watercolors and printmaking. I'm currently learning to navigate Zoom as an art teacher.
