Hi! My name is Laura, I'm 31 years old, and I love working with kids! I'm currently working as a teacher's aid for a preschool in Cumberland, working with 2. 5-3-year-olds although I have experience with all ages. I was a counselor at Kingsley Pines summer camp for 5 summers (I taught ukulele, guitar, waterskiing, wakeboarding and was a lifeguard). I have my own car and will be getting CPR certified within the next few months for my current job. I spent the summer as a nanny for a 5. 5-year-old girl who inspired me to leave my career in graphic design and pursue early education. I love working with kids because they remind me not to take life too seriously. It's very humbling to work with kids and see them grow. Right now, I'm looking for any sort of after-school work (getting kids off the bus, starting dinner, etc.) or any babysitting jobs in the evenings. Side note, I'm also a musician and love to play music with kids. I sing and play guitar/uke/and some piano.

Laura was the most incredible full time nanny to our 5 year old for several months before she started kindergarten. She genuinely adores children and caregiving and it's obvious in all she does. She goes above and beyond in creating a strong relationship and sense of safety. She is thoughtful, reliable, and a great communicator. She is fun, energetic, active, creative, and was able to flex her style to our girl's needs and interests. She provided great learning opportunities, through play and real life scenarios. She is able to coach kids through social-emotional situations and teach with structured activities (like stem kits and science experiments). She safely transported our kiddo to group activities and play dates. She is trained and comfortable with safety protocols, including managing our daughter's severe allergy. Laura continues to provide babysitting for both our 5 year old and 2 year old together, handling meal prep and bedtime routines smoothly. On top of all this, working with her just feels easy. Truly one of the best!
