I like caring for people with special needs because I do shared living for people with developmental disabilities. I have raised a child with severe mood disorder and a child with autism. I am passionate that all people are the same and that those with disabilities should reach their full potential. I have worked in group homes, homes of children with special needs in clouding developmental and mental health challenges. I have also run a shared living program and worked in vocational rehabilitation. I'm looking for a job in which I can help those I work with excel in life. I started caring for people with special needs when I was 18 and in college. I have done this for over 40 years My skills include diffusing situations, radical acceptance of others and promoting growth. I have been trained in both verbal deescalation physical deescalation as well, I am patient and can maintain very well, no matter the situation. I believe in meeting people where they are.
