About Laura

I'd describe my personality as competent, compassionate and caring. I like caring for seniors because I relate well with them, and understand and care about their needs as they age. I'm looking for a job with seniors in a home setting. I am comfortable in the home setting to allow as much independence as possible for my client and families. I started caring for seniors as a certified Activity Director for a nursing home in Fort Worth, Texas. I raised my family, and began caring for individuals, individually, in the last five years. I provided recovery care for an older woman for cataract surgeries and a broken wrist, and then began in-home, regular weekly care for a woman with middle stage dementia in the last year. In my spare time, I enjoy teaching piano, reading, listening to music, and the outdoors. One thing you should know about me- I love people! I am a Christian, Music Therapist, and pianist. My goal is to always respect and relate to the person and not to a diagnosis.
