Hi there! I am a certified special education teacher with 6 years of experience teaching individuals with a range of special needs and over 10 years of experience in childcare and tutoring. Currently, I teach a classroom of 11 individuals, ages 5-9, with severe and multiple disabilities. My current students have a range of physical, visual, speech, and hearing impairments. I am experienced in repositioning, assisting at mealtime and feeding (including puree), and providing behavioral supports and interventions. Six of my current students are g-tube fed. Prior to my experience teaching in New York, I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco, where I taught art to children and adults with and without disabilities and provided training and support to families of individuals with special needs. I am passionate about creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities to become more active and independent members of their communities.
