I am currently a Special Education Elementary Teacher who works with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students. I am in my 24th year of teaching and have taught Preschool up to 6th grade. I have had students in the past that have had Cerebral Palsy, intellectual delays, facial paralysis, severe allergies, and a couple that have had G-tubes and Trachs (of course those students had a nurse to help them with the medical issues). I love my teaching job and I have been babysitting since I was about 13 years old. I get pure joy from seeing a child finally get a concept or break out of their shell and I think sometimes I get more excited than they do about their accomplishments! :) I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Special Needs children and being a teacher I see how tough it is for the parents at times. Everyone needs a break from time to time and I'd love to help out a family who needs a little assistance to have a little "me" time.
