I worked as a behavior technician for a company called ACES for 7 months. This job required that I went to the homes of a few of my clients who all had various levels of autism, and I would run various programs with them to either reinforce or try to decrease certain behaviors. I learned so much while working in this position in regards to the needs of those with disabilities, and also just how broad the spectrum really can be. I had multiple non-verbal clients, and overtime I was able to adjust to communicating beyond our words. This position taught me patience and openness, and I am endlessly grateful for that opportunity.
