People who are elderly living on different levels of functioning than younger neurotypical adults deserve dignity in aging & dying. Dementia and Alzheimer's are painful for the whole family. It helps to know your family member is being taken care of w/ love, kindness, & respect. Everyone needs to feel loved, comforted, and safe. Put your mind at ease knowing they are being cared for even when you can't be there. Sensory modalities are a great intervention when someone with dementia or Alzheimer's is struggling to remember things. Certain crystallized memories are easier to access in the brain w/ sound or smell for example. I am not legally trained for medical assistance tasks, as I am not a nurse. However, I am willing to transport people to appointments and can offer loving intentional companion care! They don't have to go through this alone, and neither do you.
