I have been a caregiver for more than 18 years. In my past jobs I have taken care of stroke victims, people with Alzheimer's disease, cancer patients, and individuals with dementia and epilepsy (my last job for 15+ years). I even took care of a man who suffered from ALS. With the ALS patient I had to maintain his ventilator, suction frequently, provide meals via his gastric feeding tube, use a hydronic lift for transfer, and perform routine hygiene are. I am proud to say that I have worked with many amazing families and they all describe me as a hardworking individual. I do not hesitate to go above and beyond for my families and look forward to my next occupation.
