Experience: 6 yrs
Hi! I have been working for a Randy F. in Las Cruces. I took care of his mom for 2 years, she has dementia. Up until they put her another home I was with her from 6:30 to 5:30 Monday through Friday and sometimes evenings and weekends. I showered, helped her get dress when needed and picked out clothes with her, made sure she ate and was involved in activities including church and sing-a-longs. I also took her to doctor appointments. And was with her the whole time she was in assisted living at good Samaritan village on Las Cruces. I know what it's like to care for them and you need a lot of patience and understanding. I took care of miss F. and loved her very much, and I know what it takes to help them and make them feel safe and secure but still be their own person and let them do what they can until they can't anymore. I guided and instructed when needed but never got mad because I know it's not their fault and they need guidance and assurance and is just as upset with themselves than we could ever because they are confused and don't know what's going on. I did her laundry and prepared snacks and had activities to help with her memory. I also took care of my grandparents. I just have a lot of experience with dementia Alzheimer and Parkinson's disease and help keep them company plan activities and cook, clean and daily routine, including errands and doctors' appointment. I have the experience but not the paper to support it.

Hire her!! She did a wonderful job with both my parents. She came on time every day. She went above and beyond her duties with my parents. My mother had Parkinson's, dementia, and a feeding tube. My father had vascular dementia. Ladonnia was patient and very caring with them. She helped me when my father went into hospice by sitting with him, changing his diaper, bathing, and feeding him. After his passing, she was a wonderful help with my mother. She took her to her physical therapy appointments, fed her through her feeding tube, calmed her when the Parkinson medicine wouldn't work. Then when my mom was diagnosed with liver and pancreatic cancer she again helped me with hospice. I could not have managed the last year without her.
