Kylee has been our nanny for nearly 2 years now. We originally hired her to cover the summer months but couldn't live without her come September, so we shared her with another family that she has worked with for over 3 years. What I have come to learn and love about her is that she works well under pressure. There have been many times where she is in charge of 4+ children and does it with patience and grace. The children have tested her and pushed any normal person to their breaking point but with her kind voice and strong influence, the children respond promptly too (I often wish I could keep my cool like she does.) I was always in awe as to how she does this, but she definitely has a gift. In two years, she has never called in sick, been late or not come to our home with enthusiasm - even at 7:15 in the morning! She has always gone the extra mile to do something that is not required of her, because she cares, not because she wants anything in return. It seems almost weekly that I come home to my Tupperware cabinet organized and my fridge purged of old food - things I simply cannot stay on top of as a working mom. When my father became seriously ill and went into the hospital on Thanksgiving day, she stopped her cooking and rushed to take my daughters so that my husband and I could go to the hospital (ICU does not allow children). She has been our day time angel and our date-night savior. She is someone who profoundly cares about all children. Please don't let her age fool you as she's very mature for her age. She has a gift for multitasking and handling many children at once(and trust me, I'm an overly cautious mom.) I never worry about her texting and driving while transporting my kids as she made a promise when we hired her that she is carrying precious cargo and would not do anything to jeopardize them, especially texting. She is knowledgeable on infant care up to teens. She is the best-of-the-best on Care.com. We know she won't be working for us forever, but know she will inspire, motivate and create lasting impressions on many children to come. The day we hired Kylee, she was our "nanny", and now she's a member of our family, someone who we love and appreciate deeply.
