I currently work on a medical-surgical floor overnight, and have been doing so for 4 years. I've previously worked for a Direct Support Agency named Avatar Residential where I assisted six clients with developmental disabilities in a group-home setting. I previously worked there as a direct support professional with responsibilities include everything from personal care and passing medication to transportation and cooking meals. I've worked full-time for 2 years at this group home, as well as once a week with a disabled married couple. Since starting at Avatar, I've been grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such fun, interesting, and loving residents. It's rewarding to be able to make a difference in these people's lives, and working with these people, and assisting them in their daily lives has been my favorite job experience yet.
