My kids absolutely love Ayi! ("Ayi" is a casual Mandarin Chinese translation of "aunt", a nickname they gave her when she took them to language lessons.) More than just a nanny, Krystin was a part of our family for several years. We loved her energy, enthusiasm, and wanting to constantly keep the kids active. I remember Krystin often taking our kids to museums, zoos, parks, beaches, or just different neighborhoods in the city for ethnic food. We appreciated her flexibility when we moved from our urban condo to the suburban home (expanding her commute while limiting her food choices!) or when we temporarily lived in that cramped basement "apartment" (where she was stuck). She was always open for discussion and eager for feedback. It was a heartfelt disappointment when she moved out-of-state. We've kept in touch, and have even flown down with the kids to visit. If she ever moves back to Chicago, we call dibs!
