About Kristie

I love working with kids and young adults! I recently completed my PhD in Linguistics at UT and am looking for some part-time work tutoring and babysitting as I make the transition to industry. As a tutor, I believe in nurturing not just knowledge, but also the joy of discovery and the confidence to tackle challenges. I have 5+ years of teaching experience at the college level and working with adult ESL learners. My expertise spans all aspects of language and cognition, especially more mathematical aspects of language and logic. As a childcare provider, I love creating a patient and fun atmosphere sprinkled with moments of discovery. I have 15+ years of experience working with children and young adults, from early childhood to middle schoolers. I have an extensive background in language acquisition research, including a full-time position at a preschool and research center in Denver, CO and working in several language acquisition labs with children and their families.
