About Kristen

I am not a nurse (I have been a high school English teacher for 34 years), but I enjoy helping people and giving back to my community. I am organized and dependable, but also light hearted, warm, and friendly. I'm a tidy person by nature, like to cook healthy food and work in the yard, and I even like to fold laundry. I was my mother's full-time caregiver in the last year of her life, and have the utmost respect and appreciation for folks like visiting nurses, social workers and hospice angels. I've learned a lot about dementia during this past year, and have great compassion and grace for those navigating cognitive impairment and the many ways it impacts individuals and families. I still work full-time during the school year, so am looking for part-time or fill-in work August - May, with greater availability during June and July. In my spare time, I like to be outside, visit with my grown children whenever possible, and enjoy the company of my big brown dog.
