Hello! I am a preschool teacher and mom of 2. I earned my Child Development Associates in 2013 after two years of early childhood education and development courses and have 4 years of experience working in a preschool. Sending a little one to kindergarten can be a difficult milestone. We worry about how our kids will adjust to the separation, their tolerance for being at school for an extended period of time, and whether or not they have the skills expected upon enrollment. These are usually things like the ability to write their name, recognizing numbers 1-20, their alphabet, and developing the fine motor skills needed to do things like write and cut. I would love to help your little one prepare for the transition to kindergarten! I'm a huge advocate for play-based learning and making these activities fun. The most important foundation we can build is a lifetime love of learning!
