About Kirstin

I'd describe my personality as easygoing, patient, and optimistic. I'm looking for a job that is flexible and allows me to work other projects for Pearson Education. I started tutoring when I was in high school. I also volunteered at high risk schools while an undergrad. Since then, I have been teaching and working with students in my classes. It's unpaid, but very important to me to see students succeed. In my spare time, I like to play tennis, spend time with my kids (all 18+) and wrestle with my golden retriever. One thing you should know about me is I understand that everyone learns in different ways. Often students get labeled early on in school and this will often set them up for failure, later. Building confidence is almost as important, in my opinion, to studying. My skills include developing a personalized plan, providing accurate information, and building confidence. Specific areas of knowledge: science, social studies, and statistics.
