I think that a major part of child care is growth. Kids need to learn to grow physically, mentally, and emotionally to prepare for their lives. This is why one of the most important things for kids is to enjoy being a kid, and to learn coping mechanisms. It is important to let kids learn about the things around then when they grow up they have the desire to learn more and grow more, and so the growing never stops. Kids do this through playing. They see something and ask, "what is that?" Then they play with it and learn all that they can from it. I strive to make sure that they never feel pressure to stop doing this. Fun and learning go hand. Fun is also all around kids. I am good at helping them find it, whether it be making a fort, singing while cleaning, or making their vegetables into trains. I also think it is important to teach kids the purpose of rules and how they usually protect us, so as they grow they grow without resentment towards the rules.
