I was a licensed teacher before I decided to retire from full-time teaching. The only reason I'm no longer licensed is because I chose not to renew it when I retired. I've had two careers in my adult life. I worked for several years in the legal recovery department at MCI WorldCom. After they declared bankruptcy, I moved on to work at FedEx Corporate in the same capacity for a few years. My second career was teaching. I taught in alternative classrooms, meaning I taught students with special needs, severe behavioral issues, and students who had fallen too far behind their grade level to continue learning in a traditional classroom setting. I was therefore tasked with teaching all subjects at all grade levels, including preparing students for their GED. I am not overly comfortable with tutoring math beyond Algebra or the most advanced Sciences, however. Writing, Literature, Social Studies, History, etc. are my specialties.
