I am the mother of a daughter in her 20s w/ L3 autism, non speaking AAC user (touchchat) requiring 24/7 support. I am proud how hard our family worked to bring her to a place of living in her own apartment w/ staff. Her sister has left for college and as I empty nest, I want to help others take mental and physical time away. Not only do I find it important for the family but also the child so s/he has the opportunity to acclimate to new caregivers. I understand how hard it can be to leave our children, the vulnerability that comes with being nonspeaking, and the demands of disability care giving. I am comfortable with a nanny camera and use one with my own adult daughter and her support staff. My hope is to offer encouragement and opportunities to your family. I am available for overnight and extended stays as well as sporadic hours throughout the week. I'm an empty nester so my schedule is very flexible!
