Growing up I had a younger brother who was on the Autism Spectrum and I frequently helped with his speech development and therapy. He was a bright soul and since him I have cared deeply for those with special needs. Throughout college I participated in Best Buddies as well as Special Olympics - all unpaid experiences but experiences none the less. It may sound cliche to say but when someone makes your heart smile as big has my brother made mine, I just want to share that same joy, love, and light with others.
