About Kenneth

I have professional experience working with and for people having developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges. Personally I provided and managed care for my elderly mother who had dementia for many years. This experience was eye-opening and has prompted me to explore opportunities in companion care for seniors. Discretely checking the fridge, preparing and or eating a meal while in conversation with a senior may seem unimportant, but such things can mean the difference between someone having a good day or a challenging one. It also provides an opportunity to tactfully and gently monitor safety, nutrition, and well being. Coming alongside someone, communicating and building rapport while completing a task or lifting spirits isn't hard. However, it takes listening, thought observation patience, and empathy.
