Hi, I'm Kelsi! I am currently available for part-time childcare. I have over a decade of experience working with children, ranging from one-on-one babysitting to assisting in kindergarten classrooms. I'm a trained herbalist and postpartum doula. My priority is providing a safe & nurturing environment which fosters secure attachment, learning, and creativity. I'm big on nature-based learning and imaginary play, and I've been known to show up to jobs with art supplies and musical instruments. :) I believe children are more intelligent and aware than they are often given credit for and I strive to communicate with them in an honest and compassionate way. Kelsi worked as a part-time nanny for my family for three summers, as well as babysitting for us occasionally on nights and weekends. She watched my two boys (ages 2 and 5 when she started, now 6 and 9) as well as our family friend's son (age 6 when she started, now 10) for about 25 hours a week while my husband and I were at work. She prepared meals, played games, helped them with summer homework, drove them to appointments and day camps, swam with them, and kept up with light housekeeping. Kelsi is very cheerful, energetic, and responsible. She was always thinking of activities instead of just letting the kids sit in front of the TV all day, and handled any discipline issues intelligently. The boys always looked forward to their time with her and still ask when she is coming to visit all the time. She is wonderful with kids and if she hadn't moved away for school she would still be my only babysitter! I highly recommend her. :)
