Growing up with a sister with Down syndrome, I have had exposure to special needs my entire life. Although my sister was mainstreamed at the same school as I was growing up, I was always volunteering and working with her classmates in the main room. I also volunteered with Special Olympics at a young age and continued to do s for many years. Working both in the public and private school sectors, I have taught many children with varying abilities in my classrooms. Besides having exposure at a young age and working with many children and adults with varying abilities, I decided to pursue more of an educational background in ABA therapy. I have numerous certificates in ABA training, some of which include professionalism and ethics for RBT's, increasing and decreasing behavior, stimulus control, communication with families, naturalistic teaching strategies, behavioral challenges, teaching expressive language, and much more.
