I recently moved from GA & my neighbor always depended on me to dog sit his beautiful golden retriever. They would take trips and he would leave me a house key to let Bentley (GR) out and feed him. They also had a smaller dog, Roxy, I would feed as well. Bentley was an inside dog, while Roxy was an outside dog. At night Bentley had a routine of laser dot to chase outside. Then we would come inside, get him some water and food, then go to bed and I would turn a small fan on for him as instructed and do it all over the next day.
