Over the last two years, I was a middle and high school science teacher in Milwaukee, WI. During those two years, I worked with 15+ students with special needs (IEP's, behavior plans, etc.) I absolutely love working with kids but decided to leave the classroom in hopes of eventually going back to school for psychology. While I was in Wisconsin, I also went to graduate school at a University. Prior to my move to Milwaukee, I graduated from a State university (biology major and psychology minor) where I worked at a school for students with special needs which mainly served children with autism. I was there for about three years and had a variety of different jobs during my time there. I worked in the daycare with children ages 8 mo. to 3 years in addition to being a rotating teachers aide in many different classrooms (ages 4-14). The special needs school is part of the reason I left the classroom because I really loved working with special needs students in smaller groups-- it can be difficult but the reward is so high!
