I have worked in the medical field in the past as a Medical Assistant. I can take vitals and comfortably manage medications. I have 2 years of personal elderly care experience. I took care of my 85 yr old Grandmother every week in her home and sometimes two weeks at a time in my own home when my mother was on vacation. Bathed / dressed her, cleaned, managed her bedside toilet needs, made meals, took care of all her medication needs, did activities with her to keep her mind alert, and took her to some medical appointments. Broke my heart when she passed, but I was by her side until the end. I now assist in caring for a 98-year-old on Sundays. She is mostly bed bound and using oxygen. I give medications, do turning and linen changes, occasional showers, light cooking and cleaning, bedside toilet needs, and, of course, good companionship.
