About Kelly

Hello families! My name is Kelly and I am at your service as a tutor for your children. I have taught the elementary grades (K-6th) for 25 years, 10 of those years were in Santa Fe, New Mexico where I was Teacher of the Year in 2004, and 15 of those years were in Denver. Last year I homeschooled my 7-year-old twins who were in 1st grade. I run language arts camps for children here in Fort Collins in the summer, substitute in the public schools, and volunteer in academic areas for my children' teachers. For me, all roads lead to children and to teaching! I keep up-to-date with learning 21st Century teaching practices to foster flexible and critical thinking in children. I especially love teaching phonics, reading, and writing. My enthusiasm for teaching has been contagious for children and many reluctant learners respond well to my encouragement and energy!
