Hello, My name is Kelley, and I'm a retired RN. I'm neuro divergent myself :) Let's talk about patterns.... or practice our social skills together!!! I have experience on both sides of the special needs coin. At this point, I'm a responsible, functional adult capable of being a good role model and working calmly with a younger person who may become distressed. From 2005 to 2010, I worked in the Disability Resource Center at the Lake Tahoe Community College. There, I tutored college students with learning challenges that spanned the spectrum. I also taught an adult education course geared towards individuals with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other developmental delays. We learned about personal space, street signs, and other basic life skills. I work to build trust, safety, and appropriate boundaries.
