I have worked in 3 different types of special or significant needs environments for youth and adults. The first was for elementary aged children as a special education resource teacher which has given me experience and qualifications to work with children with dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, autism, emotional disturbances, ODD, specific learning disabilities and more. The second teaching job I did included many hygienic, health and behavioral oriented services as my class had significant needs including teenagers/adults with cerebral palsy, Rhetts syndrome, autism, cognitive impairments, Downsyndrome, ect. I also nannied 2 special needs children in their home as well as worked as a direct service provider for special needs adults in the community. I have a niece that I care for often that needs to be catheterized so I have very current experience with this medical/hygienic task.
