After 30 years in early intervention, I've developed a niche specialty of understanding children with behaviors consistent with autism. As one of the only educators trained on the ADOS2 toddler module I have the skills to capitalize on the neuroplasticity of the young child. My approach differs from ABA in that I focus on teaching the people observation skills that the autistic child has not learned in their young life. This includes reading nonverbal cues, body language, facial expressions and communicating with joint attention.
