About Kayla

Hello! My name is Kayla S. and I am 21 years old. I go to SSU and I am hoping to find a family that can work with my schedule. I'm looking for a job that provides me with different experience on how to foster a child's development. I've been working with kids for as long as I can remember. When I was 10 I started helping my mother care for my baby sister. Then my senior year in high school I was a teachers aid for a first grade classroom. For the past three years I've been a nanny for my niece. Which required getting her ready, making her food and creating engaging activities to keep her occupied. One of my top child care skill is being patient. I think it's very important to have patience when caring for children and understanding that every child is different. This means that their needs are different so you must also be flexible and understanding. I also believe creativity plays an important role in fostering a child's independence and teaching children basic life skills.
