I have a younger sister with Down syndrome. I've sat in on many sessions with her and her therapists learning, watching and becoming more involved in her life as the time goes on. in high school and middle school I was a part of the schools "buddy" program doing gym and spending time in the classrooms with the kids in these types of programs everyday. With my sister having Down syndrome we connected with the special needs community more than ever and met many kids that I clicked with and became a sitter for once they got comfortable with me being around them.
