My name is Kayla, I'm 26 years old, and I'm originally from Long Island, NY. I graduated from Suffolk County Community College in 2019 with my associates degree, and later obtained my Child Development Associate Credential in 2021. I was hired for a Lead Teacher position with the Children's Community Head Start, Birth-5 Program in June 2018, and for 4 years I worked in an Infant/Toddler classroom with children aged 4months-3 years old. I left there in January 2022 to move to Raleigh. After my move, I started a full time nanny position in Cary with a family where both parents were EMS workers. My hours would fluctuate between 10 and 14 hours a day, and 3-4 days a week depending on their scheduled shifts. They had 2 girls aged 23 months and 8 months when I first started, and 3 large dogs. Now we are making another move to Mooresville! My asking rate is $25/hour for 1 child, and $30/hour for 2, can negotiate if gas if offered. I am CPR certified and I am comfortable with pets!

My kids adored her but I would never hire her again. She had faults but I was willing to overlook them since my girls loved her and we have an unusual schedule and it is hard to find childcare. However, when we parted ways due to a schedule change she wanted two additional days to have fun with the girls and say goodbye to them and asked if we could pay upfront. So we paid $550 knowing that she'd have a gap in employment. Imagine my surprise when I found out she had moved away without ever doing those days or informing us. 3 months later and not a single word from her. She also still has both car seats that I bought which were $160 each and NOT a gift. At 3 months past her last day worked I had to threaten to sue her to get her to respond and she sent me the money for the carseats only. She also tried to make this our fault and had deleted our contact info with no intent on ever addressing it.
