As a Child life specialist, my role is to help children and their families cope with hospitalization/illness threw developmentally-appropriate interventions such as therapeutic play, preparation, education along with normalization of the environment to reduce stress and anxiety. As a nanny, my role is to create a safe and nurturing environment. I treat the children I watch as if they are my own family. Being an experienced nanny and child life specialist gives me an overall ability to take care of children that are both typical and atypical as well as healthy and special needs.
