I am able to help with both physically and mentally special needs. I know how to stop mental outbursts whether it is sensory overload or panic attacks by indulging in the senses to keep one present. I engage with deep breathing , guided meditations , smelling essential oils or flowers , listening to healing music , embracing textures such as a soft stuffed animal , and other sensory techniques that distract the mind. I am very understanding and myself I have come to terms to understand my own anxiety so I believe that allows me to relate. I am very non judgmental and I feel connected to people with special needs because myself I felt misunderstood as someone with very bad anxiety in the past. I also went to school for massage therapy and in school I learned physical therapy techniques. I know guided stretching exercises that help to increase mobility in the arms and the legs. I also know essential oils for healing pain and sore muscles such as peppermint oil.
