I am a recently retired state office worker This would be a change in career for me The only paid health care I've had was as a phlebotomist several years ago During that time I learned I didn't really like hurting people with the needle but I did enjoy the time I had with the patient I worked very hard to put them at ease, even using the tiniest needle I had if need be That's more work for me, but less stressful for the patient I've always loved the elderly, starting with my own grandparents on both sides I loved them dearly and miss them to this day I'll admit I don't come with a lot of caregiver skills, but I am kind, curious, patient and interested in what they have to say If you need a trustworthy person to transport your family member, take them shopping or just sit and talk over coffee, I'm your girl
