About Kay

My experience with pets is I can not ever remember not having one! I love animals. If I could do everything over again I would have become a vet! I currently have two dachshund mix dogs - one male and one female. They are siblings. My male is deaf so when we discovered that we went on-line to learn how to communicate with him through sign language! He is a special friend to us! I also was raised on a farm. I always helped my Daddy with cows, horses and pigs. Plus we always had cats that were outside. My Daddy was a hunter so I was around hunting dogs. I have always had a dog that lived in the house. Guess you could call it having a lapdog! I want to own a Lab one day! Where I work I have been exposed to Labs, Golden Retrievers and the two breeds mixed. These dogs are bred for "service dogs". They are amazing creatures! I am not a trainer - circumstances are not where I can be. But I do volunteer to help out with the dogs! That is rewarding in itself! I honestly feel that if people go through life without having a pet that they are missing so much! There is something about having that special friend being happy just being with you at the end of the day!
