About Katy

I am a national board certified teacher with a Masters in teaching K12 Reading. I have chosen to stay home with my little one who was born in July 2014. As a parent, I understand the desire for quality childcare, and I would love to provide that for one or two more children. I strongly believe in the power of developmentally appropriate activities for young children. Depending on the age of your child, I will plan and implement daily activities in and out of the home that appeals to his/her interests and abilities. I would love to provide all the advantages of a home environment for a family who is interested in an alternative to a daycare environment. I am a member of a local moms group and participate in their outings as well, so your child would have social activities as well as individualized care. As a teacher, my colleagues would likely describe me as creative, energetic, extremely organized, reliable, and responsible. I am a former county finalist for teacher of the year and have been teacher of the year at my school. I have 11 years' experience teaching Kindergarten, and extensive experience in teaching students whose first language is not English.
