About Kat

Hello hello! My name is Kat and I am a fourth year at the University of California Berkeley. I am a double major in political science and legal studies with a minor in journalism. I've been working with kids since high school, mostly in a summer camp environment. I worked in a day-care with children age 1-6 and 7-13 for two years in high school, and started working at overnight sleep away camps for 10 weeks at a time during summer of 2020. In summer camp, I mostly worked with teens age 12-17. I have designed and led leadership development programming, outdoor backpacking trips, and have a range of time-killer, engaging camp activities up my sleeve at a given moment. I value kids having time in the outdoors and learning and growing by engaging in silly moments rather than screens. I am communicative, organized, and stay on top of my schedule. I also enjoy hiking, reading and cooking. I am a full time student doing research, so that is how I spend most of my time.
