Hello! My name is Katie. I have experience working with children of all ages and with a range of different disabilities. I am also CPR certified and know American Sign Language. I've worked with children for over 10 years now, working as a Para at Titan Hill elementary school, at a daycare, doing in-home nannying, and volunteer work with Special Olympics Iowa and Iowa Miss Amazing. At Titan Hill I have worked with students who were nonverbal and needed bathroom and meal time help as well as varying behavioral problems. I have a lot of patience and a passion for caring for others! I'm currently working on my bachelors degree in Mental Health Psychology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and hope to move on to my masters in 2021. This has been the perfect job while going to school! I have plenty of references if needed!

Katie is literally the savior of my sanity. She stepped in as I unexpectedly became a single mother of 3 girls (2 of whom were fostered/adopted, and 1 with special needs) during COVID-19. My girls love her, and she quickly became a part of our family. Without me having to ask her, she took on housework, errands, and also pet care. I had family living in my basement who were going through a liver transplant of my nephew, and she didn't bat an eye about extra strangers in the house and a nurse coming every day. She also didn't bat an eye when I decided to move to a new house. She helped with birthday parties while I was sick. She put up with my crazy life over the last year, and she is an invaluable find. While working for us, she broke her foot, and I refused to find a replacement for her because she is so great. She finished her psychology degree.. She is calm and doesn't do drama. We are moving to New York, so she is looking for another position. Treat her well!
