About Katie

Hi there, I have been working with children and youth for over 10 years in many different settings. From camp counselor and after school settings to horticulture and wilderness therapy positions. I have also worked in social services engaging with parents and children in addition to being an alternative school para educator. I have taught science based garden education in Portland Public Schools, I have worked as a crew leader for a conservation team made up of youth, and am currently a garden educator for a youth re-engagement and employ ability program. In addition, I have certificates as a Wilderness First Responder and am trained in First Aid and CPR. I am also a certified yoga teacher that works with both kids and adults and I have training in teaching mindfulness in school settings. For the last seven months I have been in a training program for clinical herbalism and have a passion for plants! I would love to share my fun loving, playful energy with your family!
