I currently work from home as an insurance follow-up representative. I taught preschool/Kindergarten for 3 years and 4th grade for 1 year. I graduated from UNI in 2011 with a degree in Elementary Education and a Reading endorsement. I left teaching in 2016. I still enjoy working with kids, but I prefer working with kids in smaller groups rather than a whole classroom if kids. I have previously been a summer nanny for 3 summers for children ages 4-10. I volunteered with Big for Big Brothers Big Sisters from 2013 until my Little graduated in 2020. She was in 6th grade when we met and she is now 22 years old and we still meet up several times each year! In the spring of 2024 I completed a 60 hour training on structured literacy. I have been tutoring a student in middle school using Wilson Reading System, a program based on Orton Gillingham. I really enjoy helping kids, especially with reading!
