About Katie

Hello, my name is Katie! I received my BA degrees from UC Berkeley in both Psychology and English and minored in Creative Writing. I am currently going into the 5th year of my PhD program in Special Education. Having a background in developmental psychology and being a current researcher in the field of (special) education gives me a deep understanding of the needs of children throughout development and innumerable strategies to individualize support to students of all ages and abilities. Thus far in my graduate program, I was the instructor for 6 undergraduate/Masters/teacher credential courses to classes ranging from 25 to 150 students. I also was a teaching assistant for many courses, offering increased attention in smaller class sizes. Student evaluations reflect my passion for teaching, my caring for the students beyond academics, and my desire to help them succeed not only in the course but also in their future career or higher education paths. I love what I do. :)
