Hi! I recently relocated to this beautiful city to start a nonprofit business venture with my sister. I was born and raised in Indiana. I graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelors degree in Recreational Therapy, after completing an internship at a local state hospital under a licensed CTRS (certified therapeutic recreation specialist). I quickly entered the human services field where I started my career as a skills development specialist at a community-based mental health agency, working one-on-one with elementary students diagnosed with behavioral and/or mental health disorders. I provided direct intervention to children in the classroom, demonstrating coping skills and modeling positive behaviors. I returned to recreational therapy a couple years later, becoming a rehab therapist at another inpatient psychiatric hospital. In my most recent position as a resource coordinator I provided advocacy, case management, and crisis intervention to individuals at risk of homelessness.
