About Katie

My name is Katie. I've lived in DC for 7 years and work in natural resources policy. I'm an avid reader, sometimes-runner, Harry Styles fan girl, french fry aficionado, and avid Boise State football fan. My mom owns a Montessori preschool and kindergarten, so I spent most days after school and every summer working at her school and eventually became certified as a Montessori assistant teacher. This experience taught me how to engage a child, handle stubbornness or tantrums, support a child's desire to be independent, and how to exist happily with children even in the presence of a bit of chaos. I am extremely comfortable caring for infants and toddlers, but also have experience as an elementary summer camp counselor and I have coached elementary and middle school children over several summers at basketball camps. I cannot over-express my confidence and comfort in caring for, playing with, and supporting children. I am available weeknights and weekends.
