About Kathy

My name is Kathy and I am 24 years old. I graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. This current school year, I've been employed in the Ansonia District as a reading interventionist and a long-term substitute, taking over two 3rd grade classes. Given my field of study and experience, I am confident in my ability to provide attentive and nurturing care to children. Working in a classroom environment cultivated my patience, honed my conflict resolution skills, and deepened my empathy towards children. It also has equipped me to anticipate and address students' educational and emotional needs throughout each and every day. With that in mind, I enjoy activities such as reading, playing games, engaging in arts and crafts, and spending time outdoors. I am compassionate, friendly, and trustworthy.
