About Kathy

I took care of my grandmother from the time she was 67. First it was cutting her grass, grocery store trips, and rides to the doctor. As she aged, the more she needed, the more I provided. She lived on her own until she was 94. It was then that she was ready to come to live with me. At the time of her passing she was 103! Every step of her journey with me was done with the goal of allowing her to keep her integrity, and sense of control and independence. I provided her with the love and respect she deserved. The last three years of her life were affected by stroke, and she was bed ridden with no control of her legs or speech. I cared for her myself, including personal care. Often the doctors, nurses and other health providers who would come in thought I was a trained nurse. I want to be clear I have had no medical training, but lots of experience with the normal aging process and dementia. Contact me for availability, including overnight, temporary care.
